Happy New Year!

Image
Happy New Year! Have you made resolutions? Did they come from your heart? Will you be able to change? These are good questions for 2023.   2022 has suddenly come to an end. Old ways have flown out the window. A new year is filled with promises. These are for the old and young alike.   But what can you reasonably do? Try to alter the course of your life. Do those things you know about. It’s therefore good to mention just a few.   Love your neighbor as yourself. Just don’t say these words. That means reaching out to everyone - The neglected and lonely in our midst.   Be kind to people you generally meet. Extend a helping hand to the unfortunate. So, live a joyful and compassionate life. Do unto others what you wish for yourself.

Merry Christmas

Image
Merry Christmas Rejoice! And be glad. Christmas is in the air. It’s time for us to celebrate... For a new day has dawned.   Let’s the Christmas music play. Such melodies are joyful. Lots of snow to set the mood. As our fireside burns brightly.   A tree adorns our living room. Ornaments decorate its branches. But beneath this tree are our gifts. For Christmas is a time for giving.   Oh, what a beautiful season! With Santa Claus and mistletoes. Everything appears so immaculate. Even our kids are dressed for Christmas.   But today is most memorable. As our family celebrates Christ’s birth. It’s a new beginning for the world. Exchanging gifts bring goodwill to all.

Season of Hope

Image
Season of Hope Christmas is a joyful season. Love is in the air. So, let your warmth be felt. Merriment is all around.   Christmas is that hope. Decorations are all around. Some pines glow with stars. And colored lights are flashing.   But what is this new season? Are people still dreaming? It’s always so with the poor. And the homeless that’s outdoors.   So, be sure to cater for their needs. Give them a Christmas meal. Let the poor have some winter clothes. And have homes for them to stay.   Let there be goodwill to all mankind! Santa Claus doesn’t discriminate.   He not only brings toys for children. But Santa has a soft spot for the weak.

Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree A Christmas tree is born. It’s snowing at Christmas. Memories of families come alive. Joy fills the air with expectations.   Christmas lights flicker with delight. Bright colors decorate the tree. Glittering ornaments hang from its branches. Their varieties delight the heart.   Why is the Christmas tree special? How is it so beautiful? What a great tradition is Christmas! Many homes find ways to have a tree.   Under the Christmas tree lies gifts. These are for the young and old alike. Christmas music plays on this day. Our hearts leap with such melodies.   But Santa Claus isn’t far away. Toys and presents are in his bag. Parents greet this day with happiness. Their families gather to open their gifts.

Information Explosion

Image
Information Explosion Information is ubiquitous. It greets us throughout the day. We’re all awaken to pseudo-events. We rise in the morning to this barrage.   Can we live without this information? Of what does it consist? What does the future hold? These questions deserve answers.   The clock we depend on for the time. Our lives are shaped by this device. Radio & TV keep us entertained. It’s these media that’s sharing humor.   American mass media is pervasive. Whether it’s print, electronic or film. Remember movies we saw in cinemas. These were funny, horror, and fantasy.   Nor must we forget the impact of social media. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram come to mind. What a way to keep up with family and friends. But all these media spell out tomes of pseudo-events.

Love Transforms Suffering

Image
Love Transforms Suffering What should love-ones do? Why should they rejoice? How must they give thanks? Such emotions about life are natural.   Many people will shed tears of joy. They profess to be extremely happy. A great weight has lifted off their shoulders. They can now live lives in peace.   Those rejoicing have a new lease on life. Some have beaten an incurable disease. Ovarian cancer has almost killed them. They sought treatment, fussed, and prayed.   These fortunate ones learned their disease was in remission. Those results came after months of radiation and chemotherapy. It was an experience they won’t wish on their worst enemy. Luckily such treatment has led to their relief and a new life.   Through these ordeals stood the loving family of patients. They were supportive and shouldered these responsibilities. Their thoughts and prayers for good health were answered. It’s amazing how love transforms suffering and usher in hope.

Morning Coffee

Image
Morning Coffee Oh, what a perfect drink! It always titillates the palate. Do have a sip anytime. For it’s really good for you.   People can’t forget their caffein. Every day they may drink a cup. Most like it when it’s piping hot. This may be so in any type of weather.   Many seniors gather at McDonald’s. They socialize with a cup of coffee. Their chatter binds them together. And precious memories come alive.   Some may like their coffee cold. On those days when it’s hot. Others may use a bit of cream. But the die-hard takes it black.   Coffee is the center of people’s activities. It may come in different flavors. These differences bring them joy. Some even use coffee to stay awake.

A Colorful People

Image
A Colorful People People reflect the spectrum. They come in different colors. Glorious shades greet daylight. Beauty graces their many gifts.   The Black race is most prolific. Their color range titillates our eyes. Some are as dark like charcoal. Others appear like a sparkling white.   But what does different colors mean? Why do people talk about color? Is a person’s color really important? These are some questions that matter.   Africans hear stories of the Black race. Europeans learn what it means to be White. Asians are referred to as being Yellow. While Native Americans are viewed as Red.   Our nation is in the colors of the rainbow. Their gifts transcend their ethnic groups. Diversity is an underlying strength of all people. That’s why America is so richly blessed.
